You make me jealous when my drive was in & out of garage to do some fettling.

Enjoy Sicily it is lovely especially when approached via France, Spain, Morocco, Algeria & Tunisia on a motorbike in the mid seventies. The joy of Italy (AKA alcohol }I was student} & culture was overwhelming after 9 weeks in N Africa.

My love of Italy has not stopped since then.

Steve sounds fun.
I made to Allon Whites and back about 90 miles getting a tonneau fitted. Fun despite the showers.

Had a drive to Ledgerwood's Morgan Cadwell Park track day cross country, with Cain's Mum in the passenger seat. The ride back A1 A14 then cut across to Waresley to drop Mum off.
Of cause we stopped for Fish and Chips on the way home!
a really big thanks to Ledgerwood Morgan for a brilliant evening.

Last night I asked asked swmbo if she fancied a spin in the Mog.
She agreed. Gower to check out a pub with a garden/play area for taking the grandchildren.
Greyhound Inn, North Gower.
It was surprisingly busy there but lots of room. No food for us but the food taken to others looked good. "Local real ales on tap"Added to "go to" list. Next Wednesday with the twins weather permitting.
Next stop was across Gower via Cefn Bryn past King Arthur hotel (go there so no need to check it out), past Oxwich to Gower Inn in Parkmill, haven't been there fir years.
£2 pay and display in carpark but refunded off your bar bill so ok.
Menu looked ok so worth a try sometime. Some "local real ales" there too.
Enjoyed the drive and a couple of spots of rain on return but only used wipers once.
Got me thinking about more "exploration" trips.......

Thanks John. Just got home - sadly we missed Strasbourg out but I will make a mental note for next time.

1600 miles in all - as far south as Fussen (for Neuschwanstein) and some lovely roads.

The only real bad point was yesterday afternoon on our way to the ferry at Zeebrugge. We were very close behind (but fortunately not involved in) a nasty accident. A lorry jackknifed avoiding an idiot who cut across him and was then rear ended by another lorry. Sadly the rear most driver did not survive. The vehicles the caught fire - the first lorry was carrying ethanol which gave the fire brigade something to think about. The Belgian emergence services were brilliant and after a two hour delay we were on our way - a lot better off than one of the lorry drivers. Thoughts go out to his family.
