It is very interesting to have a look at the air intake/airffilter concerning the pics of your lovely new car. First of all, the filter box is of a good metal quality. You can change filters without fear that the screws could strip the thread as you should have fear regarding a modern Sigma 4/4. Secondly the air intake looks like going out to the front wheel area outside to be provided with good cold fresh air, if I'm not wrong.

My 1993 cvh had its air intake from the front wheel arch, through the inner wing so decent cold air supply.
The connecting duct was plastic type and passed over the exhaust manifold area. There was a basic steel plate to shield it but not very effective....the duct was melting! Replaced with new and reflective tape applied to prevent further problems.
