Also, I would question why when he drove into the field the 'parking attendant' didn't attempt to request payment. Presumably, not many farmers fields are fitted with parking ticket machines.

Sadly, as I was using my daughters car and she is a solicitor, she has decided to pay to avoid a judgement being made against her. I understand her concerns but I'd never let this rest without a fight. She'll probably sue me now to get the £60 back!

John, have you contacted Silverstone?
If you parked in an "official" circuit carpark they might like to know what has happened.
If it was their own staff then you could complain about the lack of info re payment, and if an outside company were doing it then make them aware of the possibly dodgy practices.
It would be interesting to see what they say.

If I can convince my daughter not to pay I will certainly do that. Thank you.

I would have though all your daughter needs to do to stay legal and retain the moral high ground, is to notify the parking company who was the driver, and then it is up to you.

Best of luck.

I don't know if this is relevant to you but the following is from the Silverstone website:

Parking at the circuit is permitted Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a circuit parking pass. Please note that owners of vehicles not displaying the correct parking pass will be subject to a fixed penalty fee. To make sure your journey is as quick as possible we do not recommend using a sat nav when approaching Silverstone. Instead follow the signposts that are situated on local roads and on the M1 and M40.

CIRCUIT CAR PARKING PRICES

3 Day – £65
Sunday – £50
Saturday – £25
Friday – £15
Car park passes are available subject to availability. One car park pass is allocated per four tickets booked. Please note failure to display a valid pass will result in a civil parking notice. Camping is not permitted in any of the car parks.

If you are travelling by motorbike, you will not be issued with a parking pass as motorbike parking is free of charge. Please continue to select this option in the booking process to help us manage parking at the event.

Dare I say If the parking on the Sunday cost £50 then paying £60 after the event is quite a good deal

Thank you for that and I agree £60 doesn't sound bad now. I'll settle it and stop moaning!

I find it rather amazing that on top of payment for the event, you have to pay what are exorbitant prices for parking as well!

I agree John quite frankly the £200 ticket I thought was a lot of money for 1 3/4hrs race.

I love Goodwood Revival and to me it is so much more of a show and racing all day long plus free parking.
I have never attended a Grand Prix or felt the need and this experience has confirmed it for me.

Even Red Bull air race at Ascot racecourse is only a £10 for all day parking and £25 entrance to the stand and flying all day long. We have a family day out whenever this comes to England and drive up from wherever we are, lucky the last 3 years Ascot has been the venue as we are all south of Cambridge.
