I thought this might be useful to someone. I don't claim it to be the only way but it worked for me.

Syphon out the fluid from the clutch master cylinder reservoir.

Remove the steering wheel for better access (optional)

Peel back the carpet from the foot of the driver’s footwell

Remove the split pin and then the pivot pin from the clutch cylinder pedal to rod clevis.

Remove the clevis from the clutch cylinder piston rod

Undo and remove the top master cylinder fixing bolt (2 man job – one in the footwell, the other holding an open ended spanner on the corresponding nut in the engine bay)

Undo the bottom master cylinder fixing bolt (2 man job – one in the footwell with an open ended spanner - not good access for a socket due to the clutch and brake pedal mounting bar, the other holding a socket on an extension from under the car on the corresponding nut in the engine bay). The bolt is left in place, it can’t be withdrawn due to interference with the clutch and brake pedal mounting bar

Undo and remove the 2 bolts holding the clutch master cylinder reservoir to the bulkhead (2 man job – one in the footwell the other holding the corresponding bolts in the engine compartment)

The master cylinder is now free enough to manipulate into a position where the flexible pipe to the slave cylinder can be removed from its master cylinder connection.

The master cylinder can now be removed from the car.

Corrections to method:
It is not necessary to remove the clevis from the cylinder on the car, it can be removed on the bench.
The lower cylinder mounting bolt CAN be removed from the car
The description on the box for the new master cylinder was TRW PND125 and is listed for Morgan Plus Eight 01/68-
