A friend of mine bought a small villa in Greece at the same time I bought the Morgan. It overlooks the sea and is far more practical and slightly cheaper than a Morgan. We both have a free air travel concession so getting there isn't an issue BUT...

If I were to choose again, I would still buy the Morgan.

That is an overwhelming positive response. I have hired one and did enjoy the day, very different from the Caterham I had previously.

JMD that sounds like a fantastic trip
Rog G you said it first and everyone else agreed
ASBO John guess they aren't everyday cars and are there for that occasional bit of fun when time and weather permit
Michael H... well we all love a bit of attention : )

Thanks for the replies, very reassuring!

To expand somewhat, the M3W is not like any mainstream car it is a very personal thing and whilst my 2013 car has had most of the known issues fixed under warranty I have spent time adding my own touches. I have done 10000 miles with 3 European trips. I can see no reason to upgrade it to a new car which would be little different to mine and I would then have to personalise it again. As an aside I recently drove a new 4/4 to compare it with my 1971 version expecting a huge difference but there wasn't.

Yes I known it's not in the spirit of the question, but you did ask.

I'm perfectly happy with my 1930 Super Sports Aero, but I wouldn't mind a Grand Prix to keep it company in the garage.

Any other comment before I spend money that I can just afford!

I don't sell my Morgans so I'm not expecting to become deprived of my own M3W. However, if such a thing should happen in the future (by accident, car stolen, etc), I would actively try to buy a new one. There's nothing like it. A blessing and a curse.

I have to agree with Mario. The car is a blessing and a curse. I have never had so much fun... Or come closer to being killed in the same vehicle. I'm glad I bought it and would do so again!!

Speaking from experience, this will start to bite a bit when you get past the warranty period. While people have had a varying degree of experiences, for the most part, if you are not extremely handy with a spanner the up keep on a M3W is costly and in some cases involve long bouts of down time.

If mine were to be stolen or wrecked I would probably not buy another right away. There are a lot of vehicles at this price point that may not have the character or pure smile-inducing-fun of the Morgan, but would be just as nice to own and with much less worry, up keep cost and downtime.

I debated for a few days on posting this or not and reworded it several times as I do not regret my purchase and I have enjoyed my M3W very much, all while not having close to the amount of issues some have had. But, this is my experience.

Well said Charlie. All in all, I might have just ordered that new Fiat Spider.
