That's what I don't get. OK beauty is in the eye of the beholder but why go to the all the effort for a "fake"?

I can't understand who will pay £16K to constantly have this conversation

"Is that a Morgan"?

"No it's very similar to a Morgan"

"So is it a kit car copy" ?

"Oh is that the time, I must get to the post office before it closes"

I can totally see the point of someone who wants to build their own version/copy/tribute/replica/pastiche of a car that they might not be able to afford, and kit cars provide a route to enable them to do this. There are actually very few people out there who could contemplate shelling out £40k+ on a toy.

The execution may not always be brilliant, but so long as they pass SVA they can be assumed to be safe and reasonable to drive, and in order to finish a project like this at all requires a great deal of skill and perseverance.

So all kudos to someone for doing this in my book, it's all very well to scoff that it's ugly and not a proper Morgan, but someone put a lot of effort into it. Is it worth £16k to a subsequent buyer though? almost certainly not - if it was, it would have sold by now.

sorry i don't agree at all with you, first it's ugly car (even said love is in the eyes of beholder), second point as said here previously you will always have the same question : is it a Morgan

and after search my car for several month , i found a lot around 15 to 20K £, in my eyes rather take a older one original than a younger copycat ...

I have a friend in Australia do Porsche 355 replica, he do that because this car doesn't exist anymore and the price is crazy , all he made is 100% hand made , that's not the same a fiber copy

I get your point Tim and I agree if it was up for £5K we would all be more generous to the vehicle

Chaps,

As Morgan lovers, owners and, indeed experts, are we being a bit harsh here after all, someone has had an idea, had a good long think about it, gathered some other enthusiasts around him, raised and put into the project a lot of cash, built a working prototype, sold some and even sanctioned an owners club and ended up with this travesty of a car !!!
Why oh why, can you imagine what the Dragons would say? It is ok at a distance but if nothing else, people love to look at the detail which abounds in a Morgan and which is missing from this runt.
It is just plain daft and so are the people who paid good money for them.
Each to their own !! shocked2

Here for a good time not a long time!!
