Dear TM sages and wise owls, I have read the odd recent post where someone has said "I always carry a spare xxx". As a greenhorn of only one year of ownership, I don't carry any spares at all, even fuses or relays. This is very remiss of me - anything could happen in the next half hour. What would be good to carry under the parcel shelf as a minimum to keep me afloat when I am out in the wilds of Worcestershire?

I have got spare fuses on board, a hammer, a Swiss army knive and some scotch tape.
For safety reasons I added a fire extinguisher and a towrope - the credit card is one of the most important safety features.
The only things I needed so far were towels when driving in heavy rain and the credit card at petrol stations.

1st rule of Morgan breakdowns is you will never ever need anything you have decided to carry but you will always need the thing you have just removed from the spares pack as you have carried it for years and never used it! The cars know you know ;-).
Seriously the list is endless but I would never leave home without at least a spare relay or two (my main ones are the same but I still carry 2) fuses, a length of electrical cable, a small bag of mixed terminals, a selection of nuts a bolts, some 'bailing wire' cable ties, bulbs, insulation tape, a tube of gasket goo (Hylomar is my choice) a couple of exhaust rubber bobbins and because they are Morgan specific and hard to get hold of for a Duratec car a spare accelerator cable. A bag of hand tools and after that my RAC card, if I can't fix it with that lot the RAC can have it. On longer runs I add a bottle of KSeal. I know others go on about spare spark plugs but after a working life in the trade I have not seen a car need a new spark plug in the last 30 years as a breakdown item......but I also carry them....because the car knows ;-)
And that list is not exhaustive!

RAC card?
I carry spare fan belt, clutch and acclerator cables, fuses, relays, bulbs, points (to replace my electronic set-up if needed), radiator cap, cable ties, hose clips, flasher unit. More or less anything that will fit in my small plastic toolbox that is handily the same width as the passenger footwell!

I would advise anyone to read and take note of what Colin (Spanner Juggler) has to say. My list is less technical, but this is what I carry:
Jack + long jack handle (I cannot raise the car with the short jack handle supplied)
Long wheel nut spanner (for centre hexagonal wheel nut)
Axle stand(s)
Wheel chocks
Tyre inflator
WD40
Toolkit
Fuses
Hose/radiator tape
Gaffer tape
Water
Oil
Tyre foam
Spare bulb kit
Knee pads
Collapsible bucket
Cable locks (for any luggage left unattended in the car while you wait in a cafe/pub for the breakdown service to arrive!))

Duck tape , WD40 + a hammer
If it moves and shouldn`t = Duck tape
If it doesn`t move and should = WD40
If it can`t be fixed with a hammer it`s an electrical fault.
