And finally (another item I forgot), should I be travelling with the hood up (very, very rare) and with passenger(s) in the back seats and there is a front-end prang that incapacitates the front seat occupants, then those in the rear seats can't get out. So within reach of the rear passengers is a Victorinox rescue tool (see here). Should the worst happen rear seat passengers can sever any jammed seatbelts and cut their way out of the hood. The rescue tool was recommended somewhere within these TM pages.
I have a similar beast as part of my marshalling kit...

Perhaps because mine is only 5 years old and has been utterly faultless bar one trip out where all the lights failed and it took Kevin Vernon 2 hours to decide the best thing was to bypass the ignition until properly traced ( which A. Hasn't been done, B I couldn't have detected at the roadside) I have complete confidence to go out with three things:
1. Jack and a can of goo as I have no spare 2. Mobile phone 3. Recovery number
Since the last car I decide any serious mechanics on as a Mk3 Escort due to a tribe of company cars I'm passed sorting things out. Since you're totalling around the lanes of Worcestershire and not doing the Peking- Paris rally I wouldn't worry too much. If you're able to fix and breakdown Monday- Friday you could probably get a taxi to the factory and get what you need but since I drop to Shelsley and back yesterday with only the three things above I never gave it another thought. If I break down, pull out the deckchair, take in the view and relax, there's always tomorrow!
Duck tape , WD40 + a hammer If it moves and shouldn`t = Duck tape If it doesn`t move and should = WD40 If it can`t be fixed with a hammer it`s an electrical fault.
