In the English language the word Tuning generally refers to mechanical refinement relating to engine/gearbox and running gear to get better performance. The link you supplied with the photos would be generally considered customising or body modification with no real gain for performance.
With respect to Morgans they have been tuned and undergone mechanical tuning in many forms over the past 80 years if you look into it. In fact fully modified racing traditional Morgans tend to have the wood frame replaced with a tubular birdcage type frame to increase strength and chassis rigidity, and then the body fitted over. A more conservative approach is generally taken with respect to customising a Morgan, after all it is a wonderful classic profile cosmetically already, so why spoil it!
Hi Adrian , sorry for my language mistake , mechanically i have see several heavy job, but not so many in term of cosmetics , where i think can have lot of subtile change to be made.
I think the reason is Morgans are already heavily customised to each owner, you very rarely see two the same with many subtle differences in spec, colour and accessories - with the phelora of options available most people are happy with their chosen spec.
Its also worth mentioning that car modification is very much dying over here, the days of Max Power are long gone and the amount of modified cars is decreasing constantly - the availability of "M", "AMG" and "RS" styling on standard models is surely partly responsible also. For this reason most modifications are seen as a bit "boy racer" or "chav" and this makes them less desirable.
As such originality is looked on more fondly, and with classic car prices on the up this is also securing this trend.
With regards to hot rodding and that sort of look, its always been a niche with certain cars - and Morgan's don't fill the bill.
far as i read many start to want to kill me, some have acid reply ( or maybe is language problem) in fact i just ask this question witch i have for long time, in the Aero side i see several different scheme but in the classic i see only 3 or 4 modified , it's why my question.
one said will you modify : La Joconde , i can reply since you change the frame it's customising (less or more), some dashboard it's also customise but more than this i didn't see and i feel surprise, the point of resell surprise me because i don't think you buy a car for resell it, many time the ECU , the engine so why don't touch outside ....
