Just my point of view: Style and style is not the same when it comes to different societies.
The new world has mostly a different approach than the old world and the French are different than the Germans. Italy is a class of it's own and youngsters like different things than my group of age.
To be on the save side: go with the Italians! (And no decent Italian would pimp a Morgan to hot-rod-style)
And one hardly can buy class. Either you have it - or not.
Hannes once: Green M3W; 2013 now: Red 4/4 Sport; 2011 and some practical cars for use in real life
@the austrian, i one point i agree with you , based on continent or country , the tuning / customisation is not the same.
i don't think someone will pimp a Morgan to a Hot-Rod style or limo style, but with so many Morgan out there and relatively affordable i am surprised that so many made some cosmetic change.
The funny part is when MMC cut the wing for the side wing for let the exhaust come out many praise that as a genius change.
In fact no Morgan is really the same , but in deep almost all are the same.
With the number of these lights that are used on a wide variety of vehicles it is truely astonishing that LED alternative for the 83mm lamps are not available.
Maybe is because traditionalist mog owner doesn't want others things than stuff sold by MMC
Very difficult to improve on the shape of a trad Morgan.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.
Only LED bulbs so far but am trying to get some measurements for a stop light led unit

These replacements for the smaller similar lights are available.
The problem is not just a matter of the bulbs. As you say changing to LED bulbs would be fairly easy. The real issue for me is the really poor quality of the unit as a whole. If the bulb holder gets too hot the plastic insulation can give way and the centre contact drops back and looses contact with the bulb. Then there is the issue of the screws that hold the lens. If you are lucky you get them back in, if not you can struggle for hours and destroy the threads on the brass screws. I would even think twice before fitting them to a trailer let alone a car!!!!!

I have not measured it but I think the snorkle stop light may be 73mm
Im guessing the land rover NAS lights are to big from memory also, ive found some led taxi lights that look close to the front indicators but not heard back yet. Ive not found rears yet but am sure there is something out there the same size and mountings.

you point out before we could easily find strong quality part in the era of today it's almost impossible unless you have the ability to do it by yourself or find one before it was easy to find metallic reflector even from different size you can adapt it today it's just no way .. we have to deal with that
I've been following this topic with great interest, and when the ARP4 was announced I immediately thought that's for me, it hit the right note of modernity over tradition, but I would be the first to admit it is not everyones cup of tea.
My view is that Trad. Morgans aren't pimped, which is what Yann is talking about, because a. owners want just what is delivered in the package, and are happy to make smallchanges b. Doing anything major would reduce the residual value of the car hugely c. They are quite expensive enough in the first place without throwing more money at it d. There aren't many/any rough or damaged ones around which could be rebuilt as a new owner would like, so most mods are of a nature that will improve the car in small ways generally and are not just a one-off major redesign. See what DaveW is doing. e. Most pimped cars are from major manufacturers who have made millions of the same model and owners want to change them to make them different to all the rest, Morgans are so seldom seen on the road that they are already different.
Unless I am hugely mistaken the ARP4 uses a slightly larger LED indicator and stop/tail light. Perhaps someone could confirm the diameter and perhaps even the brand used?
In any case there is a wide variety of 95mm LED lights available.
In order to use these without drilling holes it would only be necessary to make an appropriate plinth to replace the existing plinths. The plinth would need to have internal tabs that would match the screw mounting position of the original plinth plus the new LED lights. Plus a suitable trim so as not to damage the paint.
One could even argue that as it is very unlikely that anyone would want to return to the existing (to my mind) low quality units new holes would not be such a disaster.
