We (my car/bike club) normally do our own wrenching on our toys but this time I went to a authorized S&S dealer/bike shop to do an engine upgrade to something like a stage 3 Morgan. I dropped off the M3W February 14th thinking it would be about a month. The reality is that S&S parts take a long time to order and be made. The shop started today tearing down the top end and front crankcase. It should be ready next week. I'll post pictures of what we find and what new parts we are putting the engine together with.

Link to the tear down of the front crankcase.
you will see some grease at the bottom of the crankcase where a tensioner bearing seal failed, the bearing say made in Taiwan! The new bearings will not be Taiwanese.

I think I'm only around 7,000 miles to have bearings fail

Engine Upgrade:
128 CI new pistons and jugs (cylinders)
New heads with larger valves
Roller Rocker kit
Camshaft Kit 569E
58mm throttle body
bore thru to open up the stock exhaust
Titanium exhaust rap
Confederate clear crankcase cover
Confederate Aluminum fined valve covers
new bearings and cam belt

you'll need a wide sticky rear tyre to handle all that torque!! Be interested to hear your report when it is finished.

Sounds like a great spec. you have chosen. I too would be very interested to hear results.

The pictures of cam belt area showing what looks like grease is probably leaking oil mixing with belt debris. I note you have the early sealed belt cover with gasket, so the debris and oil would have been trapped inside.

FWIW I am just having new cam seals fitted under warranty to my barely three month old car to correct slight weep from two of the three camshafts. Apparently MMC sent the dealer a complete new belt kit so not sure if the whole will be fitted. Seems a bit extreme given that probably only two seals were needed and that I already have latest spec engine.

Getting closer to be done

I painted the three cam sprocket the same Orange color as my M3W since
you will be able to see them thru the clear cover of the crankcase

Changed out to black cyclinders, heads and push rod tubes

Closer to being done

Had to notch out the clear crankcase cover for the crankshaft bolt.

Also rebuilding the rear brake cyclinder that went bad

ECU update along with boring open the stock exhaust

I'm glad to see that the notching for the crankshaft bolt is not too obtrusive, I am going to have to do the same to my cover.

With the motor front and center in the M3W the clear crankcase cover really makes the motor come alive with the moving parts 😊

Dennis Glavis sold a M3W new with the 128ci motor...I'm unsure if it was supplied from the factory that way (I'm 90% sure it was) but I recall it being an incredibly substantial "add on".
Look forward to seeing how you think it compares!
