L33 - Did you buy it, now coming up as sold on the website? Congrats if so, it seemed sensibly priced for the last one produced in an attractive spec.

Very fond of my Max and would be the last car I sell. Only positive reactions to it, from young and old alike.

Williams told me that the owner fitted those alloys as the originals were too easily damaged.

The original Morgan wheels on the SS are pretty rubbish and very soft so easily damaged by kerbs and potholes. An SS deserves nothing less than Aero wheels, as does the Plus 8! hide

I was saying to PJ that I don't hate the standard wheels enough to spend £1k a corner... I nearly do, but not quite enough. The Aero wheels are lovely - as are the Speedster ones too.

Looked at the Williams car. Stunning condition and what a nice family run business. To dispell any fears, the car has no signs of track use whatsoever. The previous owner just wanted those wheels. For info a brand new set of the standard alloys come with car.
All in all the car was an event to drive but far too many rattles etc for me - mainly from the removable roof sections which can be adjusted so can improve but no certainty of curing the rattles. I also made my mind up - it's a max I need and not a Supersports.

Sadly not. The salesman I spoke to was far too pushy about wanting a £2k deposit to reserve the car. I had fears of looking at it, it not being the right car and loosing my deposit. Sadly it looks like it sold to someone else last night. Gutted doesn't even come close 😕

Many thanks but I'd only consider a RHD car.

The noise comes from the chassis staying stiff - and the body flexing. It can be adjusted but never really stops. It is better at speed and with the seals regularly maintained with silicon.

The Max will still rattle - just from difference places. It is a Morgan after all!

Remove roof sections and drive al fresco. Simples. thumbs

I'm with you though; to my eyes there is just something even more special about the 'max. If I had the cash to splash on an aeromax I'd have one like a shot.

Bugger, that sold quick, didn't give you much time at all to consider such an important purchase. Hopefully another Max will turn up soon and may be worth a phonecall round all the Morgan dealers to inform of your interest. Good luck with the hunt.
