those adapters should come on all cars, they are a genius thing. The only pitfall is that someone could come along and drain your oil without using any tools...unlikely though.

Are these oil caps still around or have they all been swapped out?
Do they fit the later style oil tank?

I've seen this posted a couple of times on the forums. Just how big of a problem is this?

it is hard to tell exactly, I know 3 or 4 people here on the forms have had those fail, the problem is there are probably getting close to 1500 3 wheelers on the road of which we have maybe 200 here on the Forum probably less, and out of that 3 or 4 failures.

I'm not sure its a big issue? I have had on problems there.
I would carry a tool kit, spare oil filter and a spare drive belt.
After that you would need a trailer to starting carrying everything that could go on the "Fritz"

Tools are good. A combo ratchet with metric and english is nice. Spark plug socket to fit same. Needle nose pliers. Allen head set. English and metric. Electrical tape. Duct tape! Standard and Philips head screwdrivers. Zip ties. Forget the oil filter and drive belt. An extra liter of oil is good. Changing a drive belt requires a small lift, an adjustable 350mm spanner, a cotter pin and patience. The drive belt will not break. Those gates models should last at least 50,000 miles. The cambelt, without the spacer set to help cool it, will have a shorter life. If you want to carry one at considerable cost then also add some steel 3/16" shafts about two inches long. You'll need them to swap in a new one.

Loctite!

Basically, if anything happens to the tires on the front or the single car tire in the rear, you'll be towed. A spare rectifier just might be a good idea still. I don't know the current failure rate for the Cycle-Electric model used in the new position. My H-D unit in the original position has 27,000 miles on it. Seems ok.

Exhaust bobbins! Get more. The rectifier has a few you can steal in case one of the muffler units sheers. They're cheap and small. This has been a point of failure.

That is all I have.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Can of mousse for tyre inflation or pump.
