And don't forget the heat generated by the baffles. In mine the pipes were always red at night and that simply can't be good for the head and exhaust valves and maybe the "ping". Removal is a nasty time consuming job, but I'd do it again no thought about it. Yes it is noisy and I'd like a little "mellower" tone, but life is just a lot of compromises? You would think there would be a way to get a mellow tone without compromising back pressure.

Does anyone know if the Stage 1 AR Motorsport Upgrade Kit is ordered when purchasing the M3W (hence, factory-fitted), are the baffles removed or does the kit have no influence on the exhaust at all? I have got the Mog stage 1 kit fitted and I think there are only few restrictions inside the pipes. Far better breathing and fun to drive. Some additional noise too... As far as I know: it is a completely different exhaust than standard. This silencer is of the absorption type, not baffled. The out side runs cool compared to the MMC standard unit.

Has anyone just removed the first, most restrictive baffle?

My car has the exhaust called ,,Noisy'' from the Morgan factory. Do you think this exhaust make the same problem as the normal factory exhaust?

As far as I know: it is a completely different exhaust than standard. The MMC stage 1 is different to the standard exhaust and uses internal turbulance to reduce the noise. The silencer section is larger diameter than the standard exhaust (but not as large as the Garage 56 absorbtion type). It has a major influence on the breathing and responsiveness of the motor - no pinking, revs straight up to the ignition cut off, pulls better and is faster

You would think there would be a way to get a mellow tone without compromising back pressure. There is - an absorption type silencer, like the G56. It has to be bigger to provide the required surface area to work effectively, but it's the perfect solution for those comfortable with running a larger than standard exhaust. It is precisely this design desire for a low profile, 'vintage' type look that brought the MMC to design the baffled, restrictive yet quiet stock exhaust. Small, neat, quiet - but horrifically inefficient. You pays your money.....!

Maybe I will just wait and buy one of the upgrades. I wish I could hear and compare some of them.
