Not sure of the dimensions for a 4 seater screen but there are screw fitting arms listed here for Morgans, makes it relatively easy to get arms on and off.

Stewart, my first Mog had a hidden wiper cut off switch. It work well as long as you remembered to use it! Also take care of the wiper arms as the screen folds.

My second car I fitted aeros & opted to remove the wipers. On this car it was simple to undo the screw push in the wedge and remove as Simon said. I preferred this option

thanks for the advice on the wipers chaps

mine don't look to have any screws or caps that remove to expose a screw. I can only think the wiper arm somehow just pulls up or levers off although it looks and feels rock solid

putting a single pole switch somewhere accessible on either the live or neutral wire to the wiper system sounds much more straight forward than having to take the arms off everytime

The wipers are neatly resting on the scuttle so they are fine where they are but clearly the issue of accidentally putting them on is way too great to not solve

if I mange to get them off tonight, I'll work out how easy it will be each time

I've still ordered the pull thingy as it looks handy anyway but as you said jbk probably irrelevant as there is nothing to push on centrally to lever up

Does disabling the wipers also disable the washers?
Worth a look, or possible face full of water - not nice if screen-wash in use.

scared

I think if the wipers can be left out of harms way and just use a switch I'd go for that. The splines are relatively soft and wont stand continuous on and off.

Teaching granny etc I know but I'd also drop a battery terminal off before fiddling around with the dash. I once had the choke cable touch a live on my TR6 when moving things behind the dash, it glowed red and cooked everything it touched.

The washers could be used to get the dead flies off the googles! grin2

The washers do work, you only make that mistake once!!
Stewart the cap is pivoted on the spindle. Pull from the farthest side from the arm

Looking forward to seeing the end results.
Liked the idea of mouth wash on the go!
This project becomes so rewarding in so many ways.

Well, by Jupiter!

A bit of a wrestle and tug and the wiper arms came clean oorrff

I'll going to clean the splines and the inside of the socket, put a bit of grease on them when they go back on the splines. That should make them a bit easier to take off in the future

I'll get some nice chrome covers from John at Heart of England's
