I have a 50 year old Elora set of Whitworth and AF set still going strong. Still find bits of the Morgan that they fit.
1/4" Hella metric set very handy and was not expensive.
I like the Halford's professional ratchet hinged ring spanners, which are very useful for undoing lock nuts in confined spaces.
My metric set was one of the plastic box all purpose tool set given to me. Most have broken but the socket set has been okay.
A set of Allen key,Torx, Star drive etc small bits are handy as Morgan use an Allen Key machine screw with a centre pin for some of their electronic covers.
The 4 Morgan 4/4s I rebuilt were from vintage 1959 and 1973. If I remember right the body and chassis were Whitworth and the Ford engines were AF.
The mid range tools of today are much smoother and neater than of old and unless you use them every day you would never wear them out.
I have old Snail Whitworth open end spanners that are massive you could put a 4 foot lever on them but the bolt would sheer!

I would highly recommend WERA tools, had some at my old work place - really nice tools when I have some free pennies I intend to replace my old tools with these.

I have got some King Dick tools and very good they are too.

Notice I steered clear of writing this in the singular.

Ah yes, King Dick!

Trademark of Abingdon King Dick, who made motorcycles up until the late twenties. Who was King Dick? It was actually the name of the local schoolmasters Bulldog! Strange but true!

KD was one of the brands favoured by the MoD, most of my Whit spanners are King Dick with the broad arrow and a commission date stamped in them!

I'd forgotten King Dick.. Probably the oldest and most unbreakable spanners in my box.

Yes I've got a few with Arrow stamps.. And GPO!

Not sure if it is available in UK, but I have a very good Sidchrome set unconditionally guaranteed for a lifetime. It is a Metric/AF set from 8mm to 22mm and the imperial equivalents. also have a extended depth set for those smaller nuts with long threads.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent socket set that would cover >90% of the Mog?

I bought this little kit for my Mog - covers pretty much everything
