This site has more but you can not download etc. but is a good cross reference for the right year if you are hunting.

Thanks for the links. I have also identified the brochure for my year (1980) and bought one for £6.50.

Browsing the eBay listings it seems that the Art Deco style brochure of '73 is the one to have, they go for about £30. I had this brochure when it came out but sadly butchered it for a college project a few years later.

Yes that's the one Richard! Designed, I think, by Charles Morgan himself.

I'll have to keep an eye open on eBay for an affordable one.

These two brochures arrived in the post today.

The first (with the colour cover) was described as:

Quote:
This auction is for a 12-page, sales catalogue, with card (stipple effect) covers, published by the Morgan Motor Co, circa 1929, for their 3-wheeler de-luxe, family, aero & super sports aero models. It is difficult to know whether this is an original publication or a later copy, although I suspect from its clean condition, that it is probably a copy. (I haven't been able to find a similar item listed or for sale, so if anyone is able to shed light on it, I will update the listing accordingly).

Inside there is a sticker "Supplied by: Brian R. Verrall and Co.". I Googled this and found a link to their collect at a Bonham's auction in 2008 (here). This brochure doesn't appear to be part of that collection. They're also "England's longest established dealer in veteran, vintage and classic motorcycles" (website here). So it might be genuine. Save for a small mark on the front cover and a sticker on the inside it is very good condition.

I do know the factory reproduced some (4 - Plus - 4 for example) brochures so maybe this was one too? I brought it because I liked it and perhaps some history but I am now curious.

The other brouchure is from 1936:

Quote:
ORGAN 1936 RANGE BROCHURE.

8 page fold out brochure, with attached 1/3 strip page along bottom edge, folded to the inside, Model shown, inside, "F" 2-seater with water cooled 4-cyl. engine 115gns. Sports 2-seater with S.V. water-cooled engine 97gns. Super sports with O.H.V. air cooled engine 120gns. Model "F" 4-seater with water cooled 4-cyl. engine 110gns. Family Model, with S.V. water cooled engine 92 & 95 printed crossed out gns, Correction reduction to price, Bumps, creases, brown foxing spotting to sides, corners & folds, small loss of top coating of paper top left fold front cover, Folded of center, overall brown spotting, foxing, creases, scuffing & other ageing marks, OVERALL FAIR TO GOOD CONDITION, Brochure size, 22 x 12.5 cm approx.

The information in both is fascinating and if any body needs anything from them please let me know.

Nice history. Can anybody shed any light?

My 1980 brochure turned up yesterday as well. Not the most artistic piece of work, it has to be said, but still a nice historical document to go with the car. It's quite quaint in places:

"The 4/4, we think, performs rather well at quite a reasonable price."

A long way from the hyperbole of today's marketing!

With regards to reprints. There was a reproduction of the original Plus Four Plus brochure and a broadsheet "Morgan Times" of contemporary magazine road tests, both given away free at the Goodwood Revival in 2009. I saw several of each on eBay but they have all been flagged as reproductions.

I've got a stack of Morgan brochures, if anyone is having a hard time locating one for their car PM me and I'll see if I have it.

It would make an interesting article on marketing in itself starting back in the 1920's and on to today.

My 4-Plus-4 brochure is a re-print, it was made very clear when I purchased it.
