While most of the Morgan drivers seem to avoid "hood up" whenever possible I recognised some advantages of sidescreens attached while driving:
seems to like them and is more tolerant to higher speeds, less turbulences, faster closing the hood in case of rain, heating works more efficient under cold conditions and no waste of storage room to carry the screens inside the car or on the rack.

A clear downside for me: With side screens fixed the Mog lines appear less elegant than without.

How do fellow Morganistas handle the side screen issue?

insists on side screens being fitted for any journey over about 15 miles unless the temperature is verging on meltdown.

I usually give in and mount the sidescreens around November and they stay on until March. That way it's a lot quicker to get watertight when it starts raining. But I dislike them because they rattle and flap about, so it's a high price to pay.

I am new to Morganeering (3000 miles only) so therefore it may be a case of infatuation, but to me, sidescreens dull the wonderful experience.

Tip - I also make sure that her flaps are wide open before I take them down - works a treat once the engine is warmed up.

I much prefer the look with side screens, I think it's a sportier and less conservative look.

It depends. On a blustery day driving down the California coast I like the side screens when driving. On a hot day in the mountains, I will probably leave them off, so that I can see the magnificent sights the Mountains have to offer. On a very long day, when it is lots of miles, my goal, the side screens offer some respite from the buffeting. Side screens are one of tools of a Morgan. Use them or not as You prefer.

My friend Loretta does not like them nor the hood. Thinks it is unsafe (She has more miles in a Morgan than I will ever have). It is not aesthetics for Her. It is Her perceived safety that She is concerned with.

The aesthetics are better without the screens it reveals the flowing lines of the door tops as well.
