A sunny afternoon's 60 mile drive yesterday, with one of my hospice patients. We 'toured' the Cotswolds - well a mini-tour out to Chipping Campden, and back via Broadway. All very Cotswoldy, and lots of silver haired couples mouching around the shops.
Vienna to L'Ile-Rousse - 1,190 km travelled but only 100 driven I.e.from home to the train and from train to the ferry. I had nightmares about damage and the ancient hood with its rotting stitching being ripped to pieces in the high speed slipstream but all went well. The train loaders at Vienna insisted on a full verbal history and loading of the ferry ar Verona was delayed while the vehicle handlers took photos of each other sitting in the mog.
And yes the hood came down as soon as we were off the ferry for a super run across the island just on dusk. Apologies for the boring shots of the mog's backside but I managed to get The Navigator into the ferry shot. She claims Cpt. Cook in her ancestry. I'll bore you with more in a few days.
It is too late now but for future rail trips get a storm cover! Low cost and very good results (as other TMers may confirm). If you want to see and/or test: I have got one. http://www.morganhoods.com/id67.html
Enjoy your holidays and do not forget to use enough high quality sun cream when driving hood down!
