If you have a copper/brass/soldered radiator you really only have one choice : Bluecol .

The modern long life alternatives are not compatible with these combinations of metals, it is said. Whether there is any data to prove this I don't know, but you would be silly to risk this for the sake of a couple of years more life from your coolant.

Normal Blue Ethylene Glycol type Antifreeze
50/50 mix

Don't be tempted to use the longlife coolants, they are specifically designed to run in aluminium radiators and the organic acids in them will attack the solder in the OE copper/brass radiator as fitted to your car. Also unless the previous coolant can be totally flushed out, then the longlife coolants tend to react and form a crystal/sludge that that quickly clogs up the cooling tubes in a radiator core.

Interesting, thanks guys. Mine (bought a few months ago) has red in it... Any thoughts? Looks like the OAT stuff...

Mine has original rad (not Alu)... 1996 +8, 3.9.

Drain this red stuff out , flush the cooling system and then change it for Bluecol 50:50 mix.

As Simon says the red stuff is NOT compatible with soldered radiators.
