Captains log day 93, no idea where we are but 6 hrs drive away from Caramulo. It's HOT! over 40 degrees, we are now getting a little more able to cope but all have "fangio forearms" as we have affectionately called our sunburnt right arms from hanging them out over the side of the car.

Ian had one issue where his off side shoe had a blow out and he suffered from a detached sole which made him less able to walk in a straight line. Or it might have been the beer.

I picked up a couple of huge pine cones while at a pee stop in the forest, the have become even larger in the back of the car, it's the first time I've suffered from swollen cones from the heat and the others have offered little sympathy.

Service here is really slow, the checkout from the caramulo hotel this morning took so long I thought they were trying to get another night out of us, and we have taken to sending Ian in for a beer order as soon as we arrive now which works better.

anyway, more updates to follow and some great pics of caramulo.

More like iron than steel but Mario inspires a lot of confidence...as do his tyres!
The drive to our overnight stop somewhere in the furnace that is the Spanish plain.....what's that rubbish about the rain in Spain falling mainly in the plain?...was uneventful apart from something out of Alien stuck to my lower grill. But at a break stop, Ian's thermometer was showing about 38c in the shade. It got to 40 by time we got to our rather nice Parador.

Heat does funny things to a man....and we are now men after this trip....sharing rooms etc.😜😳
SBM aka Twin Straps has a tattoo and instead of us slapping a wild Bulls arse we had to resort to his......he's very keen to oblige with these things.....strangely. Luckily I'm sharing my room with the Babe Magnet....just to keep an eye on him for Mintymog. He's been at it again at this hotel!

You really really don't want to know John! I'd say that before I took the photo I needed two stiff drinks to delicately remove a small piece of tissue paper scared

Give those cones a good shake, you would be amazed what bugs live in them.

Ian is getting increasingly worried if not paranoid about the amount of female attention he is getting. Personally I don't mind as it takes their attention off me never mind the rest of the gang.
So, as he expecting huge throngs of adoring female fans (of all ages) when we pull into Santander, he has tinted his windows with black bin bags. Now strangely he had a supply of these so perhaps was expecting this. Anyway, to get around the visibility issue and keep him legal....although not perhaps in France....he has cut burqua like slits in them.

Are you sure he didn't have a couple of women inside there and was keeping his athletic nimbleness a secret?

I've had a lie down for the last couple of hours after looking at that third photo of Jays and can't get it out of my mind. I'm suffering from Post Tramatic Sress and now need some counselling. scared
