I won't be going in my M3W....because I have a Plus 8 wink
Some years I've been directed to a parking area with a few other Mogs but I think it just depends on the Marshall on duty at that time and place.

So, 2 days before leaving for the 500km drive to Goodwood, the rear brake has seized on my three wheeler. There is a distinct smell of burning! Grrrr!

Daft question I know - did you leave your hand brake on (even one click will cause issues) the burning smell will be the rubber rollers in the compensator and /or the clutch

Where are you travelling from?

I made the same mistake (as I did last year) of not noticing that this post is in the M3W forum. Nevertheless I'll be there in my 4/4 on Friday and hopefully Sunday (if the rain has cleared). Saturday I'm bringing family so will be in the Rav.

I have a pass for the tax-free "Revival Car Show" parking but as Steve says, the last couple of years there has been a dedicated Morgan area and that has actually been quicker to get into.

Handbrake definitely off
I was hoping the smell was the shoes in the drum. Certainly felt hot to the touch. Your description sounds worse! Why would it be those though?

Travelling from Brussels. It actually might be safer in a "normal" car given what's been happening around Calais this week

If the brake slightly locks the rollers & moreover the clutch are trying to overcome the additional drag of the rear wheel, hence heat is produced.
Given that these clutches (mines an early model) aren't the best and I understand they've strengthened the plates on later models - also having experienced on some high percentage gradients the need to have a run up otherwise experience clutch burn (two up & carrying luggage).

A drum brake will also expand on with heat if incorrectly adjusted - so needs to be adjusted on all leading edges until it rubs then backed off so it's free.

I'll be travelling from Sevenoaks via Gatwick (to pick a friend up) so don't have any fixed timings
