First off it is wonderful. I moved the pedals closer first thing because they seemed a bit too far back. Didn't realize the catch point on the clutch was so close to the front. May have to move them back. Managed to tear up the little rubber plugs from the other pedal holes.

I'm getting a fairly strong smell. I thought it was rubber because I'm having trouble not squealing the rear tire. Now that I've stopped I can smell it coming off the front. Normal? I'd think it would have been smelled during the first 25 miles they put on it at the factory. No smoke or leaking now that I've stopped though.

Got several waves in the very first short run.

Congratulations! Weren't you supposed to get it in July? I forget your original build week?
Nice to know that the company occasionally finishes a car, and ships it to somebody!
I am three shades of green with envy right now!
Now go take that second drive, for me?

Thanks. I'm in the "can't talk, driving." Phase now.

Yeah, it was supposed to be done and delivered end of July. Not too bad lateness wise. But I kept mine to minimal options.

Heading back out!

If you're smoking the rear tire (very easy to do until you adjust), you might be smelling the clutch.

It took me 2,000 miles and a whole set of tires to 'adjust'. Enjoy the feeling. I have often thought about just what I would tell a younger 'me' to do in this case and I just can't.

The moments of discovery are like a first love.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

You mean like I'm burning up my clutch?

I've left a patch of rubber in my garage. Totally accidental. It's really easy to do

Not really, but might be smoking it a little.

congrats nick - delighted that you are enjoying your car.

I would doubt very much if you are burning your clutch.

The Mazda clutch is very robust and in my experience more than up to the job for the M3W.

Most likely simply assembly material or the exhaust curing etc.

Do not worry - unless it persists.

BTW my garage still has tyre marks on it from my rear wheel - four years on!
