I watched last night's episode (16 Sep). The E Type part of it was okay (ish) but went down hill from there.

One commentator said something along the lines that the type of people who own Morgans were probably twice his age - fair cop I suppose as he looked about 30 years old. Another commented that Morgan owners have beards (as if?) and haven't had sex with their wives for 9 years (no poll required to establish the facts on this one please).

So very thin on substance and overall a very poor programme (IMHO). Nice shot of a Blue 80th Anniversary 4/4 towards the end.

I watched the programme avidly as I was interested in what the guests said about the E Type. I have just sold my '64 S1 Roadster and much prefer my Plus 4 so I think I am further in lust with Vicky B H.
The general content was, I think, a little weak on detail and facts, for example, will the owner of the 4/4 with the aluminium chassis please step forward.
In all, the programme was a little pointless as the E Type has always been voted the most desirable classic car of all time usually by those who have never driven one let alone owned one and to look at I agree but they were always poorly built.

Usual celeb blather interviews with incorrect pictures floated around to look dynamic. Must have cost millions to produce. Not. Still some nice stuff and good to see Morgan getting so much of the time.

I half watched it...a lot of careless research and opinionated sort of celebs...but air time for Morgan is a positive and the overall image portrayed was that they are great cars if you are a tad eccentric.

Hands up here anyone who isn't a tad eccentric.......

I may be in a minority, but I think an aluminium chassis 4/4 with full IRS could be a wonderful thing....light, lithe and beautiful....!!

Council TV at its most average. Too many library shots.
Too many opinionated celebs who think they know more than they do. Some celebs unknown to me...........

Tabloid TV at its best/worst, and very library as you say Dave.
It was a bit like thumbing through the magazines in the dentists waiting room.

Clearly it was all done on the cheap and the money spent on hiring the talking heads to cut down on real programme making.
Oh, and constant repetition to cater for the modern attention span.

I'm really looking forward to watching now!

Especially with an electric motor to share the Aero chassis with, maybe..?

I suspect this could be a large minority, but as an engineering challenge it's closer to building a narrower aero chassis than it is to making the current Trad 'bedstead' chassis out of aluminium.

Steel and aluminium don't respond to dynamic load stresses in the same way. Aluminium will stretch with repeated loading even if the loads are well within the maximum load threshold. Steel will not stretch unless the applied load is over the yield threshold. The Aero aluminium chassis has to be massively over-engineered for the load forces it experiences since the goal is longevity.
