They have not learned to over estimate times, so that they look amazing when things are done "early" a hold over from the days of 6 year waiting lists.

Having just been to my dealer to remind them the factory is due to start build next week, they threw another spin on the delays. My initial 6 week delay was due to engine supply issues (email from the factory). That has been compounded by the engines finally arriving and then being found to have an oil leak. A further 4-6 week delay has then occurred waiting for a new batch to arrive.
I just thought of something, if you look at all the photos of my car it has chrome engine covers on it. I wonder if the reason they have not fitted my JAP covers is because they plan on swapping the engine out when they receive them and the JAP covers will be on the replacement engine? Another indication that that may be the case is that my dealer has been asking why the Jap covers have not been fitted for the last two weeks and has never gotten an answer from the factory about it. My god, i need to stop speculating and just put my head down and wait for an emsil that it is done!

Again i would rather wait than have a leaky engine! Any idea when that 4-6 week clock started Glenn?
I would guess early August. My revised build was week 34 (from week 27) which I was told was due to initial engine supply issues. Since then it's been put back two weeks at a time. From what the dealer said it wasn't a major fault, but the same item causing the leak on the engines that had been delivered. I do feel that my dealer is being totally honest, they are at the factory every week and have no reason to lie to me. They are embarrassed by the whole situation.

Well that would make sense. I will be interested to see if mine really does start next week. I am due to go to the factory when it does.
