I think the last 4/4 4 seater was around 2004

The 4/4 four seaters with the two individual seats and 3 point seat belts were re-introduced in 1999 with the 1.8 Zetec engine - first silver top then black top from 2001

I think the Plus 4 and Roadster four seater as we know it today with the slightly more elongated back and Simmonds style hood was 2006

If anyone knows if any 4 seaters were made in 2005 let me know as I've never seen one come up for sale or listed

Yes I'm sure the value will go up - especially the 4 seaters that have individual rear seats and 3 point seat belts from 1999 onwards but it's like houses, in that, if I wanted to trade up to a newer one, they have gone up too and by a bigger amount

Are there hints in this thread that MMC will dump the traditional Trad structure and go to something similar to the Aero. In other words the current Plus 8 with a 2 litre engine in it?

Now that would get me interested.

Come old chap, spill the beans, we won't tell anybody honest, trust me I'm a second hand car sales man.
What did you hear, is the trad chassis nearing the end or is it the rear axle or is it even worse are we going "Prius"? evil

I too am on the edge of my inflatable seat cushion with uncomfortable bench back 68 4/4 with a much welded chassis and waiting to hear the hot rumour. Yet if MMC was to produce a car with trad shape, aluminium chassis and electric motor I would happily park it alongside the tribal elder. I like Morgan's approach to progress.

I think you are on the right lines Reg.
I understand that there is a need to comply with new regulations, one of which includes ABS...

I would not be surprised. Over the last 4 years this is a topic that has been aired in one way or another several times.

Whatever the new configuration will be in a few years time the current model will be considered, by some, the last of the true Morgans. More or less the same way that flatrads are now considered by some to be the last of the true Morgans.

The Mog is dead. Long live the Mog!

I must admit that a finely restored Flat Rad is a very appealing Morgan. Especially with cycle wings.

Oh dear, well I do think that legislation cannot be kind to 4 seat Mogs like ours Stewart, mine is a 4/4 1800 zebec of 1999 and we have just been over to northern France for a quick trip and even a little nip into Belgium.

The N8 is NOT a good road for trads as it is so rough on the concrete plates, -however we have I suppose to understand that legislation will demand air bags, and other changes, the rear suspension is not good and the balance when heavily loaded is not good, and mine is the heaviest loaded you will ever see whilst the 1800 silver top is nice it lacks puff.

Now my lads have just about outgrown the car I suppose I'd like something a bit bigger with a 3 position roof, time to get back to elegant touring with an inline 6 for smoothness, these days 4 up with a load I am the slowest thing on the road, some of these big tractors can see me off.

Meanwhile my local dealer tells me they could sell my car a dozen times over really easily and the huge (ah hem) Norwegian market loves a four seater as well, so in the end that will matter, Morgan have to sell product and that means 10 cars a week or so and that needs orders so as long as they can raid the parts bin of other models Morgan have always kept a realistic eye on the price and anyway who wants another supercar most of us cannot afford one anyway.

So thats it, place your order and Morgan will make something although here they perhaps could help themselves by looking at the dimensions and what might work, they could ask us but then again that would be silly wouldn't it?

Maybe Flat Rad on the outside, but I think he might have been saying that it will be Radshape on the inside.
I just wanted to be sure what was out there already before creating too much hype.
