I find Harris quite engaging. I have enjoyed his "Chris Harris Drives" stuff on t'interweb - particularly his pieces from the Goodwood Revival (driving an E-type) and the Spa 24 Hours (driving a Bentley)

both worth a look, IMO.

Matt Leblanc will have global brand appeal and may help BBC Worldwide in a way Chris Evans never could. I quite liked Matt Leblac on the program during the last series.

That could be true, but it's worth noting that international sales of the Chris Evans series were apparently the highest ever, more than Clarkson, May and Hammond previously achieved.

I think the last series had an appeal for folk who were inquisitive as to what it would be like post Clarkson etc a bit like the Football team with the new Manager....I will watch the Grand Tour as I was a fan of Old TG - as for new TG they need to change the format to lay the ghost of Jeremy.

And that is, for the BBC, crucial. TG has become a global media franchise that generates lots of money for Auntie. When I go to India I always buy the local edition of TG Magazine.
Matt LB will help catch viewers in the USA, so further increasing revenues.

In my view TG and TGT are both light entertainment shows that happen to be built around cars. Nothing more!
Will TGT be as enjoyable as TG? Probably.
Will TGT make as much money for Amazon as TG makes for Auntie? An interesting question!

I suspect so - and raise subscription/brand tie in etc.
