For me the 2.5 engine is just so flexible. Driving along the motorways in France, fully (or excessively) loaded, the car will comfortably sit at 80 irrespective of gradient and but pull like a train to 100+ without needing to drop a gear. It does go ballistically when using the revs and gears, but this would be pretty wearing (and frightening) over a long period. I want one! I really do Me too. You. couldn't write better advertising copy than Roger's post. I'm lucky enough to have a couple of 'eights in the stable, but guess what? All my past cars that have really got under my skin have been tuned 'fours. There is just something about a light, responsive car that gives its rewards at real-world speeds.

I'm glad that you've appreciated the update. The link below is to the Omex Facebook page showing one of the dyno runs they carried out. Ultimately the engine was putting out 217bhp & 200lbft. Now that it's run in and loosened up it would be interesting to put it on a dyno again to see if it delivers any more now. https://www.facebook.com/omextechnology/...e=3&theater

There is just something about a light, responsive car that gives its rewards at real-world speeds. Amen to that..! So much more rewarding to make a smaller engine work than a big lazy one. Serves you right for having two V8's..

Nimble, use gears and throttle, grin widely, surprise some bigger engined Mogs by keeping up!

Thats why god invented the V8. After spending the last 5 days on a Run, to Northern California with "Day Runs" on Secondary, and Thirdary, roads, My +8 Bitsa, now with a 3.9 Rover, was outstanding. The 3.9 was more flexible with a wider band or RPM's available. I even used 3rd gear on occasion. The 3.5 the 3.9 replaced had lots of low end torque, but that is about all. Presently using a Edelbrock Carb. Plans are to install a "GEMS" FI using a MegaSquirt computer. MS is inexpensive, but I wonder if it is up to the task? I will contact Omex and see what they can do for Me. There are quite a lot of Throttle-Body systems available in the U.S. But the Gems looks well designed and I have one on the shelf.

Button.....over here RPI are Rover specialists and have developed the Tornado chip that upgrades a standard GEMS set up. People I have spoken to who had it done say it really does improve the engine. www.v8engines.com
