The aftermarket shifter looks nice Glenn. Does it have the gear pattern on top? I'd imagine it wouldn't.

No pattern on top. Actually this was my first choice. However it does not have a grub screw fixing, installs purely by pushing it onto the lever. If it grips firm enough i will try this one first. Its surprisingly hard to find a knob that looks right that's universal fit. This one is beautifully made. Basically did a search on 'wooden gearknob universal fitting'

So. There is no thread on the gear-lever. Lee is going to fit my Momo competition gearknob, which is a universal fit.
