Just bumped into and watched an instalment of this (IMHO) shoddy programme.....tonight's episode looked at 'Cars for the Countryside' - Landrover, Triumph Spitfire, Jaguar MK2, Ford Granada and a Range Rover.
I love Landrovers and to hear all and sundry refer to Series Vehicles as Defenders was almost too much to bear....the only good thing was that everyone loved them.
The Spitfire and early Range Rovers brought back memories of some very happy days.....
And wouldn't it be nice to own a Jaguar MK2....that's a 'Mark 2' and not as Dom Joly referred to it as 'an Emm Kay 2' - oh dear!

It's never going to win a Bafta, is it..?
It's a dire programme but we persist because we enjoy cars and nostalgia, but I too rankle when I hear them talk. Celebrity culture..? Give me a break..
It's just chewing gum for the eyes.

It's just chewing gum for the eyes. That's a very good way of putting it, it is exactly that

Interesting for car fanatics but what an appallingly made programme.

There's an earlier thread on it here: Channel5 at 8pm, Morgan in starring role I'm afraid I have to agree, not a well made programme. ~iw

Perhaps it is an indictment of our increasingly poor, Americanised TV, that we watch stuff like this, and as for the "celebs", well I for one have never heard 99% of them and count myself lucky in that. Will we now begin to think well, Top Gear was a very good programme after all, I will admit to leaning that way after all the rubbish that is now available. Thank goodness for U-Tube and Chris Harris.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

My reply is more TV than car related, Memsahib and I favor "Midsomer Murders" and "Rosemary and Thyme" over just about any of our homegrown television. We cannot comprehend how many of the offerings here have any audience, but at least we all have Morgans to play with! Cheers & Happy Morganing, Jim "Plug" Nichol

I will generally agree re the reduced IQ content pap being shuffled over to the UK however just recently we have watched a couple of new series which have had us glued. If you like the cop, mystery type stuff The Night Of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2401256/ Great acting and very well paced. One that surprised me was Happy Valley with Sarah Lancashire. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3428912/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1 I am not a great fan of hers but the program was excellent from start to end.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I really dislike the bit where you watch the first part till the ads. Go for a pee or what ever & come back to a précis of the last 20 mins. Who are the brain dead who need to be told that? I suspect it simply reduces program costs.
