I am about to install the Urban cooling kit. The weather is wet and seems like a good time to do it, ready for a long hot summer (need to be an optimist to own a M3W!)

Just missing the box file used to flash the ECU. Yes dealer has it on the Morgan diagnostic device, seems it cant be copied and e-mailed

Anybody have this file available?

On a more aeronautical tack, if weather tomorrow cooperates hope to get to see the planes taking off for the Battle of Britain fly past. Another locally restored Mosquito also, may be ready to fly or at least be on static display

P964 Do yourself a favor and wire a dash switch to the cooler, and leave the ECU alone

The ECU is locked so you'll need your dealer to flash it.

ECU is not locked, simply make a copy with a ProTune 2015 MTW to reinstall it in another MTW.
Myself I installed a copy of my ecu 2013 MTW for another MTW2013, its box ecu bought nine from Malvern was empty, I copy and paste with ProTune 3.3.
It only takes one owner of MTV with automatic fan makes a copy of the ECU with ProTune if he is able and send mail, the file is about 90 KB.

Latest update.
I have got the ECU flashed with the Fan control box file
I have installed the fan, with much fraying of skin and nerves.
I have installed the wiring loom, again with much frying of skin. Why is everything so bl6776dy tight. Couldn't fit wires to fuse block as there was no movement to allow access to underside. So taped connectors close and put in fuse.
So fan didn't kick in !!
Yes fan goes when power applied
Checked fuse..blown I had used 5 amp. Checked interweb and seems the fan should draw close to 5 amp. Ok used 7.5 amps ..blown !!
Checked fan current and when running is close to 5 amp but at start I saw 8 to 12 amps very briefly

Could someone let me know what size fuse sits in the number twenty slot of the fuse box. This is empty on my car and is where instructed to put fan fuse. No statement on what size fuse though ( that I could see with a manly read of the instructions !!)

Ta muchly

The ECU file can not be modified for a person uninitiated, puts it may be replaced by another compatible file Morgan.

Hi, It is possible to push approved tuning (box) files from PC to ECU and also to save from ECU to PC. You cannot change anything but you can view full data readouts with live gauges, look at diagnostic codes and clear historical codes.

So yes the ECU is locked in that you cannot change anything.
But can upload "Official secure" tuning files.
The upload for the Pinking cure or latest file with Fan control would normally be done by dealer, except in the colonies they are on another island. Out of need I have had to do this stuff myself, and it is pretty simple.

S&S Protune software is very similar to if not better than the Morgan software
Hardest part is trying not to lose the extremely small cap screws on the connecter cover !!

That's a good hint. I will check the actual revision residing against the saved one from my died ECU so see, if I have now a newer version.
Since I am running a new ECU pinking has reduced significantly. Maybe Morgan improved the mapping.
