Lori has been in touch this morning. It seems Conrad suffered a massive heart attack that came very unexpectedly. She, like the rest of us, are very stunned and shocked by the all of this and I feel for her.
I've explained that there is a lot of love on here for Conrad and sent her our best wishes and condolences.
As Strahorn mentioned earlier, Conrad was ex-Chicago Police Department and only hung up his badge in June this year after a total of 38 years serving.
Life throws up many twists and turns and if anything comes from this tragedy it's do things sooner rather than later.
This is very sad Conrad was a confirmed Anglophile. His car was named Mosquito and we became friends on TM after I used audio clips from 633 squadron in a Morgan M3W video. We exchanged a few emails and I found him to be a quiet American and fitting that his last post was on the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride. He had a number of successes at car shows with his Morgan. I'm numb today. We were meant to travel to Chicago this year and Conrad had emailed me to check up on our plans. Sadly and now doubly sadly we had changed our plans. Today I dressed in some of the gear he had recommended to me to buy. A bad cold prevented me from taking my M3W out but I gave it a pat and decided to skip work and go for a fly to think. As I taxi'd out to the runway I saw for the first time this new Mosquito being assembled. Like my other Mozzie posts, I know he would have given it a huge and And my thoughts sunk and soared even more.
Thanks Steve for the explanation. Just such a shame he didn't get to make the most of his retirement. Condolences to Lori and the family it must be a massive shock.
Once again the power of TM. Like many people on here we have never met but we feel a bond with him and the adventures he had with his M3W.
