A loss indeed.
Sincere condolences to family and friends.
His posts were always good reads.

Another man down immediately after retirement...happens far, far to often.
I begin to wonder if retirement is really a good idea.

Rest in Peace, Seeker.

I missed this news as I don't look at the M3W forum all that often. Sad news indeed.

How often is it that you hear of someone taking retirement and then dying shortly after?

Peter. Early retirement is the real answer, though unfortunately not everyone can manage it. My philosophy is enjoy life while you still can. It really isn't worth it to keep working because someone thinks you are indispensable or just to put a bit more in the pension fund. You owe it to your family, but above all to yourself, to do all those things now, before it is too late.

I know....this year was 80%, next year 60% and then 0%. So end of 2017 is the start of retirement.

And a M3W.... if swmbo will agree...

Such sad news, 38 years service for the Police is also something quite extraordinary.

May he RIP. frown

I've also just come to this thread, and reading it through has brought tears to my eyes. Conrad wasn't old enough to go, but then I suppose, not many people are. I also echo that our thoughts are with Lori at this difficult time. A sudden and unexpected death is so much harder to come to terms with than anything else.

He didn't have his own page, Dan. Security and all that, but Lori's is Lori Timmins
