How can you have a hood ornament on a car without a hood?

Politely, but codswallop! You do see some cars with these but the cap is wrong, and so is the badge. Caps for later twins have a curved top and some folk fit the curved top cap to earlier cars (I did) as you get a bit more room.

Owners of two speeders often fit these but the unkind call them pterodactyls, not storks. But I like mine, even if like most, I know it to be a replica.

I bought Martyn's codswallop mascot (not v. expensive), working on the principle that if I didn't like it I could always use it as an upmarket soldering iron heat sink. Anyway, with a bit of fettling it fits easily to the 'radiator' cowl.

Useful aiming device, but beware of bandits coming from the sun!

If I do fit the mascot, it will need polishing to within an inch of it's life on the inner surfaces (currently matt as-cast finish).

My Chief Exec likes it and I think it looks quite restrained. If fitted, I would probably use an adhesive that could break in extremis, with mechanical stability from a small nylon Allen bolt for the same reason.

Tim
