Arrived in Black Sod Bay, west Ireland last night after 9.5 days from Greenland. Last 4 days of easterlies pushed us north of our planned route, and we were welcomed last night at the quay by the builder of the boat and lots of his mates, off to the pub, Guinness, singing, fiddles, concertinas, Guinness etc. Today in Westport just down the coast, where Northabout was launched 15 years ago - press, TV etc. Definitely fate brought us this far north.
Tomorrow Dingle, then Sunday leave for Portishead, Bristol Thursday am.
What a trip!

Thanks for kind comments! Arrived Dingle at 1500, off to Portishead tomorrow when there's enough water to get out, about 1400, and straight on through. Gives me time to recover from the hangover before we leave. Should be in Portishead Wed am, and for once it looks like favourable winds! Last night's F 6 to 7 seemed so easy after last week!
Will post some photos when I get back.

About time for an update!
We arrived in Portishead on Tuesday evening after 2 days and 4 hours to cover the 300+ miles from Dingle. All day Wednesday cleaning up the boat, taking unused food to the foodbank, and showing people who had been tracking us round the boat. Then Thursday back to Bristol to moor up by the SS GB.
Northabout did over 11,000 miles in 4 months and a day - more than most Morgans manage - including the NE and NW passages.
I did the last leg from Greenland to the UK, a bit over 2,000 miles in 4 weeks, including ten days cruising down the beautiful Greenland west coast, nine and a half days to Ireland, then another seven days to get home.
What an adventure! Big swells and winds in the North Atlantic as we endured three storms, but glorious weather in Greenland and Ireland.
Whales, seals, reindeer, northern lights, beautiful scenery, icebergs, glaciers, snowcapped peaks and fjords. Oh, and the welcome, Guinness and singing in Ireland, where Northabout was built.
I would love to go back. There is talk of another expedition next year, but we'll see. swmbo will take some convincing!
I'll edit this with some photos when I remember how to add them.

Excellent stuff Rob.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

What an adventure - not for the faint hearted - but for the brave/thrill seeker!

I admire you and your fellow sailors.

Warmest congrats! cheers

Thanks, all - and it was an adventure. My second Atlantic crossing, and I loved that, but this was ten times better.
It is taking a while to readjust to the world of mobiles, beds which don't bounce around, and I still only sleep for a 2 hours at a time. (And lawn mowing, hedge cutting and decorating! There is a price to pay!)
A few more pics.
The first is the northern lights from our anchorage in Tunulliaatsiaap Nunaa, and the second is the drone pic of the anchorage next morning. Quite remote!
The third is the harbour at Qeqertarsuatsiaat, and the fourth the interior of the beautiful church there.

And one to sign off this thread. Rounding the SW tip of Ireland through Blasket Sound. We had perfect weather from our arrival in Ireland, all the way down the west coast to Dingle, and then back to Bristol. Well at least the wind was mainly behind us - we still had the odd bit of 40kts, but this photo summed up the high we were on!
