having now had my 4/4 for over 18months I also needed to do some enhancements to improve the factory setup .
First was the Revolutions induction kit with K&N filter this made a real improvement but 5th gear was not much good .
Next on the list was a librands manifold and a trip down to Williams for a remap and while I was there they fitted a Panhard Rod,i also have brake reaction bars .
I had a 400+ mile journey home and I found a huge improvement in driveability. 5th gear is now not just a cruising gear and I am now happy with the car .
However 2weeks ago she was shipped back to the factory to have some paint bubbling on both wings fixed ,thank goodness for a 30 month warranty.

Was certainly impressed with bumble, have saved the thread which detailed the modifications so that I can apply some of them to the car I eventually get.

I still am somewhat predisposed to a 2.0, but will certainly give the 1.6 another try, may have to have a 1.6 anyway as most of the 2.0 cars are always slightly out of budget, there has been the occasional success though!

RBW - Don't view a 1.6 Sigma as the also ran because of budget. They are lighter so don't lose out much on performance in the real world - plus if you like proper driving the zesty, revvy engine and slick gearbox really are a great combo.

You do need to spend time looking and driving the different models of Trad, whatever your initial thoughts. Any dealer worth their salt knows that giving people time pays dividends in the end.

It's the old cost/availability/colours/options scenario. Hit it all right & you've found your car.

I do get disappointed when people (and even some dealers..) refer to the 4/4 as the 'starter' Morgan. Some have that shallow view of perceived value, and if it's bigger and expensive then it must be best, an attitude that should remain within the junior management car parkers.

The 4/4 is a standalone product and has qualities that many only appreciate after going through the heavy steering and high costs ownership cycle. The car is all the better for a less is more philosophy, and I'm going to stick my neck out here when I suggest that the current mix of quality, upgrades and engine/gearbox is the best the factory have done for many a year.

Those 80th anniversary models are simply stunning in their execution, with no issues such as the other 'limited' ranges suffer from. Witness the launched P4SS and ARP4 for just two..! The Baby Doll was too track focussed to be included, but every 4/4 edition suffers none of the angst.

Just take your time and the car will make itself known to you, whether it's a big engine or a little 'un..

Just to support what has been said previously you shouldn't get too hung up on which model will be best for you based on reading reviews, or the comments of any of us on this forum.
I now have a Plus 4,after two 4/4's, and for my use the current car suits me best however I modified my 4/4's to how I wanted them and they were both brilliant.
Unless you have a very clear idea as to what you want I would suggest buying a relatively standard 4/4 and only modify it having lived with it for a year or two. If it's not for you the good news is that you should get back virtually what you paid for it, I sold both of mine for more than I bought them for, and the even better news is that you may just find your ideal lifetime car.

Yes I too would agree with Andrew and SBM. A 4/4 has all the qualities that make Morgan ownership so enjoyable.. It is nimble, light, handles well and quick enough for many, and can be modified to suit individuals needs. A proper sports car in old school terms.
Big and expensive doesn't necessarily bring more smiles per mile!

Interesting to note that the video used to introduce factory tours refers to the 4/4 as the "Entry Model".

Just noticed this as I sit in the cafe enjoying a coffee - hear to collect my car after some warranty work.
