That is much more useful than the under cowl box that Morgan sells. It is so small, and so oddly shaped that I cant even get my tool roll in it.

Ivory colored wire wheels on a daily driver? That would give me an extra three hour a day chore.

Lovely spec but aren't the 3 eared spinners illegal? 'Bet they'll look lovely but may give plot an excuse to pull you? Just a thought.......

Regarding "legal", knock-offs are not legal on new cars in the US after 1968. However, nobody from a legal/DOT perspective is likely to know exactly what a M3W is, and in any event, the M3W would not be legal as a new car in total, so it's a mute point as to their status on a car... I question if a M3W could be sold new with them "factory" installed, but I don't know for sure.

The dealer couldn't sell them on a new car but once the owner has taken possession they can do most anything they want to the car, including adding knock offs of any sort. The removable steering wheel is not legal on a new car in the states but once you're home a hack saw fixes that!

Mine didn't have the long bolt from the factory that keeps the wheel from being removed.. oops.

I was thinking that as well but in looking at the location of the louvers compared to the location of the oil tank itself, I'm not sure if they would aid in that too terribly much. It seems like positioned further back would have extra effect. I have to imagine that as far as oil tank cooling, unless the bonnet seals up tight to the body, that there's enough air gap there to serve that purpose.

Though admittedly I do have a strong desire to either switch it out to one of those nice looking aluminum tanks from Moon, or one of the glass ended ones, I really like the way those look, and you have quick reference to how the oil looks.


With regard to the three eared, with it being categorized as a motorcycle, I don't even think it's something they look at. And I've seen MG/MGB here after the funky '68 safety nonsense with two and three eared on them that pass inspection each time. So it's probably a hand full of don't know and another hand full of don't care.

And yes, I may end up regretting the maintenance of those ivory wheels, but I think they'll look amazing. A low dust brake pad should help a lot with that as well though since that's where the majority of dust would be from anyway.

I already have to clean the spokes on the MGB, and even my Honda gets a bunch of dust on it cause of the aggressive pads I'm using. So I'm a bit used to it =\

The footwell storage box I think will be quite convenient, though I wish they had a different option for the door on it. I hate that funky diamond plate looking stuff. For under the bonnet I definitely plan on just building my own. Whether it's fiberglass or formed metal. Either way it'll be something a lot more form fitted to that area and have dividers for common tools, hammer/knock-off wrench, and various bits and bobs.

Oh, and congrats on the 5000 Miles so far Ken. Have you detailed any issues/concerns in your own thread about what you've experienced so far? If so I'll need to check that out. I've read up on you insulating, sealing various things, but if you have any choice commentary on it so far I'd love to hear.
