My wife and I have secured a spot in the 2017 Great Race. This is a timed-distance rally that will be approx. 2300 miles from Jacksonville, Florida to Traverse City, Michigan next summer over the course of 9 days. There are about 110 cars that have spots next year. I entered our M3W as a back-up vehicle, but we are starting to consider running the M3W as our primary vehicle. We've put about 4,000 miles on the car this summer, with a few minor repairs. The car is a 2013, CENTA upgraded last year. Fixed a bunch of little issues including oil tank leaks, broken rectifier plates, blown tubes, etc. but (knock on wood) she's been running well all summer.

Here's a question - what parts would you pack for trip like this? Space isn't limited to the car only - we will be able to have luggage and a little equipment moved with the event team staff. Thoughts?

Here is a link to the event if you are not familiar: http://www.greatrace.com/

An inner tube for the fronts, a rectifier and a fuel pump, but that is based on my experiences alone.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Wow. Sounds like fun.

Jack
all tools you can, SAE and Metric. One wrench big enough for the rear wheel bolt!
Electrical tape
Tubes for front tires.
Full oil change w/ filter
H-D rectifier
Fuel pump
Glass cleaner and endless supply of kitchen towels!
If you haven't done it then put the front cam-belt cover spacer kit on! No need to keep a spare if that is done.
I saw that someone else was carrying a rear belt for a trip to the States. Those are practically indestructible! They are also expensive. Don't

GoPro and mounts! Record this! Have fun!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

If you're still on the original rear sprocket/pulley change it for one of the new ones before you set off .

+1!
The change for the steel version was the greatest improvement and the best noise reduction I experienced on my M3W

If you have time its well worth popping across to sleeping bear dunes west of traverse city. 200+ foot high sand dunes are impressive!

Starts in Jacksonville? I wonder where within Jacksonville! The map appears to be made by someone who has never seen Jacksonville before as its located in what is central florida on the map.

Still, would love to come out and watch the send off if I can.
