Last year i had an engine management light come up which prompted me to purchase a diagnostic tool. The code displayed was P0174 lean bank 2 with a P0171lean bank 1 pending. My Vgate scan tool quickly cleared The light. So far so good. I had a recurrence a year later, same code, which i again cleared. Now the light is coming on on a regular basis. A previous owner had fitted a Librand exhaust which makes a difference i suppose. Clearly the fault was intermittent and is now worse to the point when the light comes on every time i use the car. Is it likely to be just a sensor problem in the exhaust? Any opinions? Incidentally the car runs very well.

I get it occasionally usually in colder weather & when using cheaper fuel.
Buying from BP, Shell or Esso seems to help.

Interesting comment John about cheap fuel as i did use a garage off the beaten track in Suffolk. There are generally two grades of fuel at Shell garages, have you notIced a difference between them with regard to engine management lights?

Paul, the simple answer is not really. I tend to use 1 in 4 refills of the expensive stuff & swap suppliers as I think that helps. The reality is I expect they are all similar.
In EU where the cheap stuff is 10% EtOH I buy the higher grade.

Paul, also my S1 has the standard cat & exhaust. I also find the coil pack sits upfront under the louvres & benefits from damp start yearly as do the plug leads. John

Yes you did have the hood up. That was a confusing roundabout. We had already gone the wrong way along that terrible strip of concrete road.

Coming back from south of france a couple of years ago my engine warning light came on 5 times. Each time my obd2 thingy said it was weak mixture on either left bank or right, I suspected that this was down to french fuel.
light very rarely came on in uk. 2007 roadster.

On my series 2 3.0l Roadster I have had the check engine light come on 8 times in the 5 years since new (24000 miles). Always PO 460 Fuel level sensor circuit A. I put it down to overfilling the tank.

I had a warning light come on today in my Healey, then it went off, then it came back on.. Then on and then off..Then I realised it was my indicator.
