My 4/4 ,named "Shy Tot" in memory of my Grandad's hill climb car,is 2 years old today....

Brief Ownership log:

21,000 miles...nothing broken or fallen off...no warranty issues.

Engine Mods:

ECU remap,Librands manifold+sports exhaust
Cold air induction+ K+N filter in standard air box

139.6 bhp(measured on rolling road)

Result mid range torque is improved and 5th gear is more than just an overdrive gear..the car pulls now in evert gear and burbles pops and bangs like a good un..great soune track

Suspension Mods:

Brake Reaction bars, adjustable spax set 6 clicks on front,10 clicks on rear.
Panhard rod

Result..very sharp handling and turn in and feels very planted on the road.

Other Mods:

Wolf Performance front valence, bonnet stays and dashboard veneer.

As we all know the Sigma/Mazda combination is outstanding and the engine came alive after about 7000 miles.
The gearbox is a delight.

4/4 benefits:
low road tax
40+ mpg even after remap
galvanised chassis

Nimble,agile proper drivers sports car.

Can you tell I like it !!!

I have driven most Morgan models (except P4SS,Aero Series3,Speedster) including new Aero and ARP4 and after every drive I looked forward to my humble 4/4..I wouldn't swop with any of them !!!..which presents a bit of a problem :

I expected to change the car before the MOT but I continue to enjoy the car so much that I am sure I will keep it...I'm sure I would regret letting the car go.

So my "car fund" which has been bolstered by poor performing maturing ISA and sales of my F1 memorabilia from my time in Goodyear Tyre Team in the 70's remains available for an additional toy.. I am seeking out a 1920s/30's hot rod.

Sorry for the long ramble...but the conclusion is that I loved the buying/build process of my Morgan and 2 years on I am still as enthusiastic as ever in driving my black 4/4

Thanks for reading !!!!

Many Happy Returns to the young lady, Kev..!!

Your car was one of the inspirations in my search for a four wheeled Morgan as you know, and I'm so pleased to read that the feeling lasts.

I bet you even washed it today..!! Black cars born on Halloween should be, I reckon.

cheers

Enjoy her, KEVFITZ. I see a lot of similarities between your and my experiences concerning the 4/4. All positive!

Kev - happy birthday to Shy Tot! There is such a high chance that you would be disappointed if you changed it for anything else I can only say must just keep it & get another toy. You've done a lot to your 4/4 and it's a top car. 4/4s Rock and are well sorted. thumbs

That's an interesting set of modifications to a not so "humble 4/4".

I had always thought (from other TMer's comments) that when an ECU remap was done you lose the "burbles pops and bangs" as the map was optimised to reduce un-burnt fuel.

Did you have a special re-map to keep the lift off noises?
