So FIFA is banning wearing poppies at the England Scotland remberance match. Have they no soul?

It's probably because the Royal British Legion have refused to pay the necessary backhanders to the corrupt apparatchiks of FIFA.

I say damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

It would seem so, Stewart...

I think both teams should boycott the match - FIFA can go, errr, do something unmentionable...

Well if they have said no to armbands with poppies, that is rediculous

I know England have had to go with armbands in the past

I know this might be controversial but I can understand FIFA reluctance to accept a poppy on a shirt with it being our symbol of rememberance for our fallen from our armed forces but to not allow arm bands with a poppy on for a game on the 11th of the 11th between two home nations strikes me as deliberately awkward and unsympathetic to national sentiment

Could it be FIFA is Swiss based , the last president was Swiss , the current president is Swiss .
Switzerland has not been at war for hundreds of years so don't have war remembrance

These are my thoughts, not ment to offend our Swiss Morgan owning friends

I believe its commercial, political or religious logos that are banned. Poppies aren't any of these surely?

It's exactly the same rules that applied to advocacy in a court of law and so a speaking barrister, judge or magistrate can't wear a poppy as our own legal system deems it to be a symbol of alegency

Having it on a shirt doesn't allow individual choice which should I feel be allowed -there are many conscientious objectors, pacifists, humanists and religious organisations who will respect those who have died but won't wear a poppy

An armband allows those who might object to abstain from wearing it and I feel that those who have died have given their lives to preserve those very freedoms
