The entire article stinks of envy and tree-hugging-poor-me-rhetoric. Now picture this - Mr Woss in a brand-spanking new Lexus RX people carrier... ...higher cost, less cool, and most importantly extremely newsworthy NOT!! Good for him for having excellent taste - I'm sure the roof-operating skills will come with time!!

Cigar-chomping BBC fatcat Jonathan Ross shows off his new £40,000 sports car
By Donna Mcconnell Last updated at 4:02 PM on 17th June 2008
Jonathan Ross is clearly enjoying the fruits of his labour.
The porcine chat show host was seen puffing on a cigar as he drove around town in a shiny black 2008 Morgan Roadster, looking like the fat cat who has got the cream.
Show-off Ross, 47, is clearly not bothered about keeping a low profile despite the rumblings of discontent surrounding his massive £18million salary for a three year contract.
Fat cat that got the cream: Jonathan Ross enjoys the fruits of his labour - as he tools around town in his £40,000 Morgan Roadster
Ross was seen driving near the BBC's television centre, in the 2008 version of the classic car which starts at £30,000, and that doesn't include the flashy stainless steel wire wheels - only available on Ross' Roadster model for an additional £2,300, nor the red leather interior Ross' car sports - a snip at £2,400.
But he does have the backing of the BBC's governing body which sparked fury recently by claiming top stars like Ross and Graham Norton deserve their multi-million pound salaries.
The BBC Trust said deals like Jonathan Ross's £18million three-year contract were worth every penny and did not distort the market.
The ruling by the BBC Trust will pave the way for more inflation busting pay rises for top talent like Ross and Graham Norton in the coming months.
But of the BBC's own reporters attacked the pay deal as 'obscene'.
Tooling around: Chat show host Jonathan drives around London in his 2008 Morgan car, while chomping on a cigar

What a nasty little vindictive series of reports on Wossy and his Morgan. On the one titled "Jonathan Ross Tootles off home in his Morgan Roadster ........" someone has commented, "It does'nt surprise me that Ross drives a Morgan because its just like him, a flash exterior with very little under the bonnet". That's fighting talk, surely ! She's obviously never heard of the Plus 8. We should invite him to an Ace Cafe meet as its local to him and give him some support.

Hmm, clearly daily mail journalists don't get paid enough if they can't afford to buy a 30k car with a few options...
As for the comment about whats under the bonnet well I'd say it's true, the engines aren't particularly powerful in the general scheme of things. The average hot hatch manages more than 250bhp these days.
What makes them special is precisely the fact that they don't need outrageous power outputs because they are light on the scales.
As such they are relatively affordable fun, combining reliability low fuel consumption and servicing costs.
God knows what they would have said if JR had been in a Bentley...

If he has never been to Ace Cafe he would probably enjoy it provided he was allowed to come incognito, like, in his Morgan. Nice Car, Shame about 'Wat No Ashtray (or Badges)' Gonna Lose That Door Rubber!

And if the writer has his facts right and he is getting £18 million... a Morgan is hardly extravagant! I hope he has an AeroMax on order as well... stick that in their pipe! (or should that be sidepipe? I agree, what's £40k when he's getting £18mil, in fact i'm surprise he's so modest.Unless he already has a couple of Aeromaxes on order... The writer seems to make a big deal out of the roadster optional extras, don't really get it Well at least Morgan has some decent exposure out of this A point that is missed is that the writer is a woman ( yes a mere damsel in envy) Maybe he stood her up the night before and she was getting back at him?
If you are doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?
