"Time tested, yes. I'm not sure that Morgan are truly geared up to design and develop new suspension systems and use computer modelling to calculate stress and longevity; perhaps I'm wrong. Unfortunately, Morgan got it wrong when they changed from Armstrong lever arm damper to telescopics in the 1990s - poor design made worse by incorrect specification and cheap and nasty Monroe dampers - crash, bang, wallop!.

The sliding pillar (actually stub axle) has been around a very long time and the materials used (phospher bronze, malleable iron castings, etc, etc) have proved themselves. The problems have occurred when new materials have been used such as vesconite bushes. In theory, they were 'God's gift', in practice they failed to deliver."

I agree on Telescopic vs Lever shocks. I have tested both extensively and at least the Lever shocks are as good and maybe better than telescopic (certainly Monroe UGH)

IMO Vesconite and Devol, the Jury is still out. However; Bronze is readily available, do the job, so why take the risk? As I said before, I am setup for Vesconite. It is easy for Me, easier than bronze here in Seattle. So I use this material. The only argument I see that has merit, is Greasing makes one inspect the front suspension regularly. I think that is a good argument.

The problem I see about loctite bronze bushings with suitable bearing retainer is taking it apart when the bushes are worn out. It will take heat and maybe lots of heat for the bushing to release.

The other problem is to be able to follow the directions, precisely, that Loctite supplies with their product. Cleanliness, no oil, preparing the surfaces, selecting primer and applying primer. It goes on and on.

No sure of non destructive testing to insure bushes are bonded adequately.
