On my way home from work today I was treated to a view like this...

.. unfortunately on the back of a transporter so I didn't get to also hear it.

I'd worked out the brand but didn't recognise the model - now I've got yet another car to save up for.

A bit of surfing tonight has also added the Allard J2X MkII (see on Jay Leno's Garage) and the Aston One-77.

Perhaps I should save 5s and 10s as well as the coppers rofl

Zagato either seem to get their cars spot on or make an attractive car look like a monster scared

The DB7 is one of their better modifications. A chap local to me has a coupe in Aston green and it does look special.

That rear window looks like a pair of shades, and the lower edge looks odd. The boot lid is interesting though. Wonder if it opens down like the lower half of a Range Rover. Exhaust detail is excellent, but lights are a bit unimaginative. And why silver/grey. Astons look best in green (IMO obviously).

Zagato is a beautiful car - did a trip a few years ago in Germany and a chap brought one along. Great sounds too from the V12. OVerall though, it's no much different to drive from a DB7V12Vantage, and from what the owner said they preferred the (then current) DB7GT to drive. (Well these folk always seem to have several Astons in the garage!)...

If you can find a <1000 miles car then it's probably one for the collection, but for driving I'd take a Vanquish S any day from what is said..

Zagatos are most often very Marmite in their styling.

The Aston dealer near my office has the last Vanquish S, unregistered, in the world, for sale. They are expecting it to go to a collector. They are nice but when you can pick a nice example up for 35% of the original price, you'd have to really want a new one to pay list. scared

I think the Vanquish S is the most gorgeous GT of all time. Save for an F40 (or an Aero, of course) I can't think of anything I'd rather have.

Bet they don't make the rear screen in 20 yrs time as a spare part, best to by a parts car now for those difficult parts....

If you are doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?

The Aeromax does it for me. The only car I have genuinely lusted after. When I first saw it, I told my wife that if it makes production I will work an extra year past the planned retirement date to buy one. It did, but by then I had been made redundant. Such is life.
