I am new to an 89 Morgan 4/4. I find a contact switch in the door jam of the drivers door, but can not seem to find a map light anywhere that would come on when the door opens. Any advise?

I have a 91 4/4 there is no contact swith on door jam.
Maybe a past owner fitted it.
Not an alarm ?

I have a 98 US spec Plus 8 and it has a contact switch on the drivers door, with the door open and the keys in the ignition a buzzer is activated to remind you the keys are still there.

BTW I don't have a map light or courtesy lights either.
My car was supplied by Cantab. It maybe a US requirement.

My 2000reg 4/4 has a maplight fitted under the dashboard on the passenger side.Not wired into any door switches but has its own on/off button on the lamp.

My 1985 . 4 / 4 had a contact switch in the door frame and a small bullit type light under the steering column, but nothing on the passenger side.
It did not have a map type light

My plus8 2002 has the same one as GerryWal .
Never used yet in 4 years.

I have a push button keyring torch on my set of keys given to me at a car show - I have a 4/4 - but hey it`s a Morgan.

I have a map light under the dash and I accidently switched it on - result - a flat battery.

My map light ( dash mounted) only comes on when the car lights are on.
