Oh No...
I have a mass of Airfix MRCC stuff in the loft. The loft is all but empty. Suddenly an urge to put up a track with Aero cars has come over me.
I could spend my last years hunched over a track driving slot cars. Just like I spent my teenage years.

Peter, that's very possibly the best idea you've ever had..!!
Forget the loft, run it around and under the cars in the garage, get the drinks on & that's another TM party sorted..!
I loved Scalextric.

Graham Steve tried to post an image but posted the link to fleabay. I just found what seemed to be the related image and put that in a quote of his post.

I wondered about that I saw it was no longer available. In my yoof I used to race slotcars on a commercial track. I spent quite a bit of my hard earned pocket money on tyres, motors, braided strips to pick up the current, fluids to make the tyres more sticky, and special controlers etc. My favourite car was a Corvette Stingray, I think it was one of these but by the time I had finished with it it was slightly modified. Of course I would never do anything like that with a real car

Very nice. I have to admit to not racing any of mine (yet). They are all parked, in their boxes, in a display area in the dining room dresser. Well, all the Morgans are - the E-type and Muira are in my "office" at present... One day I'll get the track out and have a gentle trundle. Didn't have Scalextric as a youngster, but a product called Minic (sp?). It was a similar scale to the OO/HO rail, so one could combine the two. That initial set had a DB4 and 300SL.
