Came across this car lift affair yesterday on a stand up at the NEC & wondered what anyone else thought..?
It's drawback is a 125mm lowered height, but I'm thinking of it being kept in situ in the centre of the garage and driving the car in over two scaffold planks or similar to miss the lift.
The other drawback for me is the fact that the wheel rollers would mash the floor up, but thats easily sorted with the use of a couple of steel channels.
That's pretty much the same as mine, Steve - I have the Strongman Tamar. I do exactly as you describe, I have a scaffold plank either side to ensure clearance under the car. The rollers run direct on the concrete rather than on the floor tiles, and I've not observed any damage - but as you say, a sheet of steel would spread the load if one had a slightly dodgy floor. One thing to consider is the release mechanism for the safety locks. Some have mechanical releases, others (like mine) require a compressed air supply. I chose the compressed air option as it is completely fail-safe, there is absolutely no way the safeties can be disconnected accidentally.

The important thing if you fancy a lift, is to check that the lift points are compatible with what you need on a Morgan. So in the case of a Trad, where you couldn't use the front cross tube and rear cross-member, measure the rectangle from the triangular panel under the outer corners of the bulkhead to the hefty cross-member in front of the rear wheels. And make sure that your proposed lift will match those dimensions.

Bought mine from here, http://www.bhrepairs.co.uk Cost £1100 in 2013 great piece of kit had no problems so far. Normal plug no need for fancy sockets etc. You do need to have a ramp both sides if you have a low sump car like a Roadster. Looks just like the picture you have posted. jim.

The strongman lifts have a lower height when down I believe, or at least that's what they told me..might make it easier to get the car over it.

Strongman 125mm, 1200mm lift, MR06 125mmm, 1090mm lift.
The strongman unit appears to have 12 or so locking positions as opposed to 4 on the MR06. Neither requires a compressor as Strongman's latest one now has manual unlocks.
The Strongman one is well over £300 more expensive.
Interesting Strongman advise 6in of concrete in the floor to operate thier unit.

Well that sure is porn with a big P.
Blimey Henry's Sport looks as if it's been on steroids compared to the Alfa unless it's the 1300cc one.
