The engine was less important to me than the lack of refinement. The 'crudeness' or shall we say, classic '30's design was a huge attraction. There is nothing like it.

On Friday at the NEC, several people asked me why two Morgans?
Well, having the space and having a long history of two 'classics' certainly set the precedent. But the big attraction was having the factory experience, before the Trad is discontinued. I couldn't contemplate selling my Roadster, so there we are - two.........

Perfectly expressed.....

All the joy of a vintage car, without any of the endless DIY working on old, tired mechanical stuff.

The majority think it is a perfectly restored old car....until I leave them standing!

Classic looks with modern performance and reliability, to be fair my frogeye hasn't been that unreliable, but the rubbish parts quality and constant repairs are a bit annoying.

The view down the bonnet is also nice.

Plus the people I have met\communicated with have made me like morgan as a car\brand even more.

We had had Volvos for years and my driving was getting less and less . I wanted a car that I had to drive and felt alive in . But what , I was reading the Times color supplement, on the rear page was a picture of a son with a red parked mog next to a pond and a windmill Saying dad can I drive your Volvo . I went up the Volvo dealers and they tried to flog me another . Went up to John Macs he had a 4/4 4 seater and a 6 month old 4/4 with 600 miles on . On asking them they had purchased the 4 seater and put a deposit down on a +8.
I set out a yes and no on the mog there was a load of no's and a few yes's . So I went up to his garage he gave me a ride in and old +8 it had been used on the track the passengers seat was fixed, so my feet was a long way off the bulkhead . He shot like a bat out of hell up the road after a few mile shot in a bit of spare road and hit the brakes. My arse slipped on the leather and I shot under the seatbelt my feet to fare away from the bulk head to stop me . The seatbelt almost strangled me , John Mac could not stop laughing . I got in the 4/4 to see if I fit . Sold the Volvo to the agent and went for the mog . The most memorabil thing was watching the bonnet going up and down . The mog gives me a buzz that no other car can . drive

Impossible to compare a Morgan with any modern car , only to classic cars , what other car has a view down the bonnet like that or querky bits like wooden steering wheel , stiff suspension , running boards , the list goes on , nothing like it !

Fun at 40mph when all the fun had been taken out of driving by my 35,000 annual miles in a company car.

And now my business mileage has fallen well below 10,000 annual miles, the Morgan still brightens any day that I drive it.
