So here goes.

During the begining of this season, I had a John come to me & ask for assistance with looking after his car whilst at the circuit.
The relationship grew and by mid-season John wanted the Suplex front and rear suspension with the Williams Quantum dampers, lowered ride height to class B regs and for his leaking radiator to be sorted.

The car was delivered to us at Williams by John where a full working plan was put into place and the work began.





As we had removed the ally rad from Henrys due to fitting our own comp radiator, I decided that the rad would be idel for John to use to replace his leaking item.

Once the suspension was fitted, the ride height was then set





Thats how the car raced with set up constantly being adjusted to suit Johns driving.
All was well until race day at Anglesey. John unfortunately went square on into the back of another racer, both were able to carry on.
John was not aware of the damage he had picked up from the incident, which was a heavily split radiator (which we had just fitted).
Now as John carried on, water was escaping from the radiator to the point the engine was dry of water. 2 laps after the accident the engine decided to cook itself and dump oil out of every possible outlet.
We got the car back to the workshop, carried out a number of tests on the engine, but the engine was dead.
After a very good conversation with John it was decided to reapir the car and make her better then ever for the 2017 season, which is where we are now up to date.

The strip down and rebuild begins

I pulled the engine out and sent it to Johns engine builder.




I then sent the car to the bodyshop to have the OS wing and both inner wings repaired.





Once the car came back the build went up a gear.
The engine bay was fully cleaned


The cabin are was cleaned due being covering in engine oil.



Now it starts to be my fav time of a build when I get to use my imagination, experiance and allow everything to flow together.

John had always had an issue with spongy brakes, I decided to remove the brake master cylinder for a full inspection. I found that corrosion had set into the seals and se a new item along with new braided lines was installed.




The next aera to then sort out was making sure our Williams comp spec radiator fitted along with a nice 13 row oil cooler

Now the complete fuel system is in the process of being fully updated, so out with the old




Al parts have now been ordered.

John went to Tilletts and had his own B3 seat made



I'm just waiting on the seat brackets to arrive now.

As this engine is of alot higher spec then the previous it will be dry sumped. Hnece the beautiful tank that will take place where a passenger would put there feet.




Luckily I had the gearbox stripped, everything crack tested and rebuilt. I say luckily as the crack testing showed that the cast iron bell housing was very close to a complete failure.




So decided to have a Quaife light weight alloy version fitted



Ishall be keeping this build up to date as I progress through the build.
