Order it in the same colour as your Plus 4, transfer the Reg, and don't tell her.

Thanks for all the replies, looks like it is going to cost doing up the new house and a trip to Australia. So pretty reasonable really. 👍

Welcome! Glad the +4 is giving you plenty of pleasure. When I decided to move back to Morgans from Caterhams it was between a +4 and a 3.7 Roadster. I loved both. I went for the Roadster as the dealer advice was that I'd soon want more power, and I didn't regret the choice. Now up to 4.4l, and that's proving sufficient for now, and seems ok at the moment about it. Have fun!

Welcome Fenman, If you make it to Australia, there are several members of TM from both sides of the country that can help you convince your wife you have done the right thing PM any of us if you are in our cities at all. Interesting to hear how most of us try to pull the wool over : eyes when we have purchased our first or upgraded our Morgan's Could make a rather funny thread " How I conned the missus to get my Morgan"

Great news Richard.
I don't think the good lady wife will always be against it. I had changed jobs and bought a jolly sensible VW Diesel to do a high milage in. As a result the good lady said I could have a modest weekend toy. I was looking at Lotus, possibly TVR, Noble (too expensive) and some other stuff.
I drove most of them and had decided on a Noble but it had some side effects. Not easy to enter and exit, a bit flash, over budget etc. I figured I would take her for a drive in it and see the reaction.
We got there early and whilst waiting she saw the Aero Series 1 in the showroom. She clearly did not enjoy the test drive, too much wooosh and rocket noise from the turbos etc. As we climbed out at the garage she pointed at the Aero and said "what about that" in a serious manner. I had seen and heard about the Aero but not driven one. The salesman said, "close your eyes to the styling and drive it before you say a single word". I took it out and loved it instantly. Big lazy V8, great noise, good handling and only the tight interior put me off. I was hooked.
As we got back to the showroom Maria simply said "I will pay the difference if you like it" as it was 25% overbudget. Ever since then we have always loved the car totally.
She said to me that the difference between having a Noble and an Aero/Morgan was that she could enjoy the Aero from either seat whereas she always felt like a spare part in the other cars.
Just as a warning however a decent older 911 was another choice and if there had been one on the lot I suspect it might also have won. Of course if it had won it would also have been worth even more now!
You win some and you WIN some. I think it is worth testing the water before we assume SWMBO will nix something as a default.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
